10th Post - February 2015

Finally, here are my recommendations for February, hope you enjoy them and find them interesting to watch, listen and eat. In the meantime, February has a lot to offer especially in London, so head this month and take in all the best new events, exhibitions and best events in the capital.

 

Valentine's Day at The London Eye:

 

A good view of the London skyline has always made us feel a bit soppy, so choosing one of the London Eye's Valentine's Day Champagne Experiences should work some romantic magic, especially as it comes complete with a glass of Pommery Brut Royal Champagne and a box of chocolates from Hotel Chocolat. If river-level romance is more your style you might prefer to sign up for their 40-minute Champagne Cruise. From 13th -15th February.

 

The Candlelight Club: 1920s Valentine’s Day Ball

The dazzling, 1920s-styled clandestine pop-up party fuelled by jazz, dancing and cocktails returns for a Valentine's extravaganza. It's a lavish, luxurious affair (sponsored by Moët & Chandon champagne, natch), taking place in a secret Art Deco space behind a public library – 'a masterstroke in prohibition-era venue diversion and camouflage', as the organisers put it. The location is kept secret and only revealed to ticket-holders the day before the event.

Benoit Viellefon and His Orchestra (who played at Wills and Kate's wedding, natch) will provide swing jazz and ragtime rhythms for lovers to dance to, amid a palm tree-lined ballroom lit by hundreds of candles – great for romance – just don't burn your tux/dress, as fire extinguishers aren't sexy unless they're used in a slow-mo montage.

There'll also be burlesque performance from Vicky Butterfly, dance from the Gatsby Girls and Auntie Maureen DJing vintage tunes. For those that want to make a meal of it, there's a three-course dinner option available, cooked by a team of Michelin-starred chefs. A whole lot of sultry and sexy party vibes happening right here.
