19th Post - November Overview

Finally, here are my recommendations for November, hope you enjoy them and find them interesting to watch, listen and eat. In the meantime, November has a lot to offer especially in London, so head this month and take in all the best new events, exhibitions and best events in the capital. London is a treasure trove of brilliant days out and activities worth boasting about. Whether you live and work in the capital or you’re planning a holiday, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to finding fab ways to fill a free day with fun.

How do you look today? You know image is everything. But under those perfect clothes and perfect smiles, everyone has their not-so-perfect secrets. Lucky for me, nothing can stay hidden forever. Whether the truth's in the diary or the Daily News, once it's out it will change everything. Let the chips fall where they may. Along with the husbands and boyfriends.  The French say, "plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose." Sounds romantic. But all it means is the more things change the more they stay the same. Outsiders remain on the outside. At least for now. And the wild cards just keep getting wilder. But even the same characters can start to play new power games. And old stars can cease to shine. What did I say about letting the chips fall where they may? See you soon -- N

The Enchanted Woodland:

The tenth anniversary year of Syon Park's Enchanted Woodland will see the 600-year-old gardens and their 400-odd specimens of tree transformed by specially designed illuminations and lights. The route can be completed in half an hour by those with a brisk pace, but better to allow longer for taking photos, admiring the installations and playing with the interactive lights along the way. Book in advance on 020 8560 0882.

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland:

Christmas family fun aplenty with a huge ice rink, two circuses, an observation wheel and the Magical Ice Kingdom, plus themed bars for the grown-ups The Grinch would have a real job stealing all the Christmas from Hyde Park's massive tribute to festive fun, which is back for 2015. Entry to Winter Wonderland is free, and a wander past the fairground rides, around child-friendly Santa Land (including Santa's grotto) or through the Christmas markets is a real treat for anyone feeling the spirit of the season, as long as you're ready to hear all those songs as you potter. The Magical Ice Kingdom is your chance to get up close to some real ice and snow, meeting some mythical frozen beasts as you explore a chilly forest. Along with the 60-metre observation wheel, rollercoasters and fairground rides will keep thrill seekers happy. A good alternative for those who prefer to stay on solid ground are the selection of themed bars with real fires, except for the Ice Bar (for obvious structural reasons) where even the glasses you drink from are made of ice.
