I'm particularly bah-humbug when it comes to winter. The thing that makes me dislike the winter season the most? Probably the fact that my winter skin is a complete and total nightmare. Here are a few products that I find great to use especially as it starts to get colder.
1. M-61 Hydra Boost HA Serum Pads - £32 for 10 Pads
We're calling it the perfect serum for traveling. Much like the brand's signature peel pads, these little clothes are packed with a whole lot of power. Each are infused with a hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5 formula to plump, firm, and moisturize your skin on the go.
2. Pixi Glow Tonic, £18, cultbeauty.co.uk
Toners and chemical exfoliators that contain glycolic and salicylic acid (aka AHAs and BHA if you aren’t in the beauty know), tighten, brighten and refine the skin’s texture. These power acids dive deep into pores to help remove dead skin cells and excess oil, that could run the risk of turning into a pesky blackhead.
The right primer will essentially ‘fill in’ large pores instantaneously, so when you apply your foundation they will look less noticeable. The Kiehl’s Micro-Blur Skin Perfector, will not only decrease pore size, the hydroxy acid packed formula keeps them clear in the long term. It’s also suitable for all skin types, tones and free from any nasties.
4. The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask, £17, thebodyshop.com
Charcoal and clay masks work like magnets to draw out impurities and absorb whatever grime is lurking in the shadows of your skin. They’re a must-have in all skincare cabinets, whatever your skin type. The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask is not only budget friendly coming in at under £20, it also helps to refine the appearance of pores for healthy-looking skin without being too drying. Along with charcoal, it also contains green tea leaves and organic tea tree oil, to help combat oily skin and to attain a clearer, blemish free complexion.
