August 2019 - Film

Welcome All!

In terms of new films this month, here are two recommendations that you may find entertaining in the cinema this month.

Films in August:

The Sun Is Also a Star sees college-bound romantic Daniel Bae and Jamaica-born pragmatist Natasha Kingsley meet -- and fall for each other -- over one magical day amidst the fervor and flurry of New York City. Sparks immediately fly between these two strangers, who might never have met had fate not given them a little push. With just hours left on the clock in what looks to be her last day in the U.S., Natasha is fighting against her family's deportation just as fiercely as she's fighting her growing feelings for Daniel.

Angel Has Fallen is the third action thriller in the series that began with Olympus Has Fallen and continued in London Has Fallen. This time around, Secret Service Agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) is falsely accused of an assassination attempt on President Allan Trumbull (Morgan Freeman). After escaping custody, Banning must evade the Secret Service and the FBI as he works to clear his name, discover the actual threat to the president, and put an end to the danger facing the country. If the first two movies in the series are any indication, viewers are likely in for lots of strong language, plus tense, narrow escapes with characters in grave peril, big explosions, bloody shootings, and a high body count.
