August 2025 - Music

Lainey Wilson is set to celebrate the one-year anniversary of her acclaimed album ‘Whirlwind' with a special deluxe edition, arriving August 22 via BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville. The expanded version of the award-winning record will feature five new songs alongside the original 14 tracks. Leading the deluxe release is Wilson’s latest single ‘Somewhere Over Laredo,' which is already making waves across the country and international music scenes. The track has been named Record of the Week by BBC Radio 2, Absolute Radio Country, and Smooth Country, and it debuted at No. 31 on the UK Radio Airplay Chart. The deluxe edition of ‘Whirlwind' will include the new single alongside four additional tracks: ‘Bell Bottoms Up,' ‘King Ranch, King George, King James,' ‘Yesterday, All Day, Every Day' and ‘Peace, Love and Cowboys.'

Wilson gave a powerful first live performance of ‘Somewhere Over Laredo' at the 2025 American Music Awards earlier this week. She also appeared on CBS Mornings to talk about the song and the upcoming deluxe release. Billboard praised the track as “one of her most commanding, dynamic vocal performances to date,” highlighting the emotional depth and vocal range showcased throughout the song.

The expanded ‘Whirlwind' release adds another milestone to an already remarkable year for Wilson, who has earned 16 ACM Awards, 9 CMA Awards, and a Grammy, continuing her rise as one of country music’s most compelling and authentic voices.
