People We Meet on Vacation follows opposites-attract best friends Poppy (free-spirited) and Alex (reserved) who take annual summer vacations for a decade, until a fallout in Croatia stops them; two years later, a stuck-in-a-rut Poppy convinces Alex to take one last trip to fix things and confront their unspoken romantic feelings, which unfolds in flashbacks revealing their decade-long friendship and the truth behind their rift, culminating in them realizing they're in love and navigating their future together.
