12th Post - April Overview
So here are my April posts, hope you enjoy them and find them interesting to watch, listen, eat, read and of course not forgetting about shopping for your new Spring wardrobe. In the meantime, April has much to offer especially in London, April means the sun is shining, the flowers are blooming and it's about time us Londoners breathed in some fresh air. Head out this spring and take in all the best new events, exhibitions and Easter happenings in the capital.
Events in April - The Mayfair Market
The Natural History Museum's butterfly house returns for a seventh year in 2015 to a specially constructed tropical enclosure on the Museum's east lawn. Visitors can come face-to-face with tropical butterflies, including the swallowtail, blue morpho, the moon moth and many others originating from Africa, Southeast Asia and North and South America, and take part in games, activities and challenges that teach more about the sensory world of the fluttering creatures.
Most of the creatures in the Natural History Museum have been dead for a very, very long time. But here, in this humid tent on its lawn, you can see the most beautiful birth sequence in the natural world: a butterfly wriggling out of its chrysalis, pumping up its damp wings then taking flight and landing – if you're lucky – on you, instead of a flower.
Events in April - The Mayfair Market
On Wednesday 15th April, (11am - 4pm) Lumley Street and the deck of Brown Hart Gardens will be hosting an array of market stalls. The hustle and bustle of the markets will include the likes of creative artisans, tasty treats and plenty of inspired crafts. So there will be loads going on for you to come and see.
Also, on the Piazza there is The Garden Café which is a calm oasis right in the heart of Mayfair. Set in the beautifully renovated and restored elevated Brown Hart Gardens, it’s surrounded by open space and modern planting.
Serving a selection of delicious salads, sandwiches, coffee, tea and freshly baked cakes, the Garden Café is the ideal place to while away a peaceful morning or afternoon. Just a stone’s throw from Selfridges on Oxford Street, the café is perfectly placed to provide weary shoppers with a much-needed coffee break or a glass of wine on a sunny afternoon.
