THIS YEAR'S BEST DRESSES - 2023

This has seen some great style and fashion on the red carpet and here we have the stars that raised the bar for red carpet glamour.... Here we have the best red carpet moments this year...

Natalie Portman:

Natalie Portman’s arrival at the May December premiere in a glittering custom Dior number that’s an ode to a museum piece really captivated die-hard fashion enthusiasts. The actor’s ivory strapless gown – meticulously adorned with ornate beading and featuring a layered skirt reminiscent of a fan of eyeless peacock feathers – is inspired by the Junon dress that Christian Dior himself created for his 1949-1950 autumn/winter collection (named after the Ancient Roman goddess, who was wife to Jupiter and patron goddess of Rome). Although it’s not currently on display, the original dress is a part of The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute collection.

Cara Delevingne:

Cara Delevingne stunned at Vanity Fair’s Oscars Party. The model was styled by Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn in a gorgeous gown by Del Core. This floaty frock hails from the brand’s Spring 2023 collection – complete with an off-shoulder design and ivory hue. We love the tulle finish! The entire ensemble oozes elegance.

Zendaya is a shimmering goddess in her latest red carpet look. The Euphoria star shut down the red carpet at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) Gala at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai, India, which was also attended by Tom Holland and Law Roach. For the occasion, the red carpet favorite chose a truly show-stopping look, wearing a one-shouldered sari by Rahul Mishra. The luxurious gown features a triangle bralette covered with gold-leaf filigree, with a swath of sheer crystal-embroidered fabric wrapping over the left side of the torso and fanning out into a full-length sheer cape over her left shoulder. The navy ensemble ends in a sparkling, flowing skirt featuring beaded gold bird designs and intricate floral embroidery on the hem.

She finished the look with black toe-strap platform heels and an array of jewellery by Bulgari, including cluster diamond earrings and an array of bracelets and rings. As for her glam, Z wore her hair in an elegant bun with pinned curtain bangs, with bronze makeup and a glossy pink lip.

Taylor Swift:

In what can only be described as a glittering, glamorous feast for the eyes, Swift debuted her third custom gown by designer duo Nicole + Felicia of the "Eras" tour during the "Speak Now" portion of the final L.A. show, resulting in booming screams from the audience, who knew exactly what this meant. The sparkling dress featured cascading strands of sequins, made up of silver and various shades of blue to create an almost water-like effect.

Amanda Seyfried:

Amanda Seyfried cut a divinely elegant figure in a sheer gold gown at a Lancôme event in Shanghai. The Mean Girls actor looked breathtaking in a sweeping sheer cape dress adorned with gold, pearl, and jewel detailing by Elie Saab. The neckline of her dress was grandly decorated with the embellishments, creating a look worthy of a queen’s throne. Seyfried paired the glorious frock with a pair of heels and kept her jewelry simple with a few gold rings. She rounded off the look with gold eyeshadow, fluttery eyelashes, and a coral tinted lip and wore her hair down in soft waves.

Jessica Chastain:

Jessica Chastain looked sensational at the 95th Academy Awards when she arrived in a dazzling Gucci gown. Chastain sparkled like a diamond in her glamorous design, commanding attention on the champagne-colored carpet. The A-lister allowed her regal black train to cascade behind her as she glowed for the cameras. But the show-stopping focal point of Jessica's incredible look was her necklace – a gorgeous diamond wreath featuring teardrop emeralds. Jessica's beautiful features and porcelain complexion were accentuated by soft glam, while her lips popped with a bright burst of crimson. The star's signature strawberry locks flowed down the right side of her face in lustrous mermaid waves and her green eyes glistened through voluminous lashes.

Lea Michele:

Lea Michele attended the Time 100 Gala, which was held at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City. The 36-year-old actress donned an elegant outfit and flashed a wide smile as she posed for several photos on the event's red carpet. Michele wore a flowing light green dress that showed off her toned arms during the Gala. The lower portion of the Scream Queens actress' outfit featured a lengthy train that added a bit of extra glam to her look for the evening. The Grammy Award-nominated performer accessorized with a sparkling pair of earrings, and her dark brunette hair contrasted well with the light tone of her clothing.

Riley Keough:

Riley Keough is the moment. In the midst of the massive success of Daisy Jones & The Six, Riley attended the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party and wowed in a metallic print dress by CELINE that appeared to resemble a snakeskin print. The 33-year-old mother of one lit up the blue carpet in the neutral-colored dress, which featured cutouts above her hips and a cowl neck, as seen below. She accessorized with a thin silver necklace and sparkling waterfall earrings, and her luscious auburn hair was styled in loose waves.

Margot Robbie:

The longtime Chanel ambassador dazzled on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, decked out in a black one-shoulder gown that was re-created especially for her from the house’s spring 1993 haute couture collection. The dress was a spitting image of the original donned by Cindy Crawford and also featured a sweetheart neckline complete with a long sash that connected to the front of the actor’s see-through corset. A focal point of the piece was the transparent midsection, which featured boning made of the designer’s legendary gold, chain-woven straps. Margot styled the ’fit with a pair of square gold earrings, two dainty rings, and a pared-back glam look, opting to go for simpler makeup and a blowout.

Kelsea Ballerini:

Kelsea Ballerini made a classic arrival to the 2023 CMA Awards in Nashville, looking to designer Christian Siriano for her blush-pink dress. Ballerini’s one-shoulder dress featured a thigh-high slit and draping. Dressed by Molly Dickson, she completed her timeless outfit with bowtie heels and sparkling earrings.
