THIS YEAR'S BEST DRESSES - 2025
This has seen some great style and fashion on the red carpet and here we have the stars that raised the bar for red carpet glamour.... Here we have the best red carpet moments this year...
Selena Gomez:
Gomez flipped the script for the 97th Academy Awards. The off-the-shoulder dress was embellished with over 16,000 glass droplets and Rosemont crystals, affixed by hand by 12 skilled artisans. Adding a touch of colour to the dress, the Ralph Lauren team airbrushed the glass drops to create a pink ombré finish. She brought the bling with her accessories too, wearing a collar necklace with a diamond drop pendant, alongside diamond earrings and a handful of rings.
Hailee Steinfeld:
The 28-year-old actress shimmered in a silver gown paired with a black cape draped over her shoulders while walking the red carpet on Sunday, March 2, at the Wallis Annenberg Centre for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills. Although she was solo for the night, Steinfeld’s engagement ring was secured on her left hand.
Balqees Fathi
Balqees Fathi took to the red carpet during the premiere of Dossier 137 wearing a fairy tale-gown by Oscar de la Renta. In two-toned grey, the strapless gown was smothered in crystals across the bodice, before falling away into a full net skirt. Looking like entertainment royalty, the singer paired the look with a smooth bob and a necklace of white diamonds.
Demi Moore:
Demi Moore looked absolutely incredible on the red carpet at the Golden Globes in an exquisite dress by Armani Privé, which was custom-made for the 62-year-old siren.
The Ghost actress, who won Best Actress in a Motion Picture, delighted onlookers in her strapless frock which hugged her frame perfectly and was finished with a glorious fishtail hem, and sparkling glitter detail at the bust.
Zoey Deutch delivered a moment of red carpet-coded sculptural elegance reframed as monochrome drama. She wore a custom strapless gown by Thom Browne, featuring a white corseted bodice with front button detailing, a black belt at the waist, and a voluminous black overskirt — a look that fused celebrity dresses-coded silhouette control with designer outfit-coded tonal contrast.
Dakota Johnson
During the Cannes Film Festival, Dakota Johnson stepped out in a sheer silver Gucci gown for the Kering Women in Motion Awards, an event that honours women’s contributions to film. The actor finished off her look with statement earrings and her signature shaggy bangs. The semi-sheer slip dress could have challenged the film festival’s newly-implemented naked dress ban, but lucky for Johnson, the ban only applies to the festival’s official red carpets and as opposed to the surrounding soirees, leaving the star free to don the beaded crystal creation. The piece featured a sporty, halter-like neckline, as well as a fitted bodice and a see-through skirt.
Sadie Sink:
The actress’ custom ensemble featured a luxurious ivory satin bralette with a matching floor-length skirt. Both pieces were embellished with delicate silver crystals that created an ethereal glow amidst many darker outfits worn by the large ensemble cast. Sink wore her long auburn hair down and parted in the middle, with bold brows and a hint of pink blush on her cheeks.
Zendaya:
Zendaya didn’t make fans wait long to see her first major red carpet look of the new year. At tonight’s Golden Globes, the Challengers actor arrived in a glamorous burnt-orange custom Louis Vuitton ball gown with a diamond necklace.
Lindsay Lohan:
While attending the sequel’s United Kingdom premiere at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square theater in London, Lohan wore a custom Ludovic de Saint Sernin dress that was a reimagining of the look she wears for the final scene of 2003’s Freaky Friday.
The halter-style design was coated in square sequins, mostly in lavender, save for golden details that traced the bustier-style bodice and straps, as well as the bottom of the skirt, while popping up in a few swirly bursts along the body. To complete the look, Lohan carried a crystal-covered Judith Leiber handbag in the shape of an electric guitar (Anna Coleman would certainly approve), while sporting tan, knotted leather heeled sandals from Manolo Blahnik.
Lola Tung:
Lola Tung brought shimmer and shine in a look by Kaufmanfranco to the Paris photo call for the third season of “The Summer I Turned Pretty.” The sleeveless dress featured a plunging neckline and slightly formfitting silhouette with a column skirt that flowed to the ground. A standout element of the dress was the backless moment it created for Tung. The Kaufmanfranco design was nearly totally backless, save for the halter neckline at the back and a band of fabric that joined secure fastening above the waistline. Curated by stylist Britt McCamey, Tung’s look also included Frank Darling custom rings and jewelry pieces for her minimalist accessories. The actress’ hair featured a middle part with reddish tones styled in a straight fashion by Dana Boyer, with makeup provided by Misha Shahzada.
Monica Barbaro:
