December 2015 - Film
In terms of new films this month, here are two recommendations that you may find entertaining in the cinema this month.
Films in December:
When four generations of the Cooper family come together for their annual Christmas Eve celebration, a series of unexpected visitors and unlikely events turn the night upside down, leading them all towards a surprising rediscovery of family bonds and the spirit of the Christmas. It’s time to celebrate ‘Christmas With The Coopers’, that wonderful time of the year when everyone comes together to give thanks that it only happens once a year. As always, the Cooper family’s Christmas is falling apart at the seams, despite parents Sam and Charlotte’s best efforts. Their daughter Eleanor brings a stranger home so she can pretend to have a boyfriend; Charlotte’s sister Emma has been arrested for shoplifting; and their granddaughter is becoming a truly terrible toddler. Come and have ‘Christmas With The Coopers’ alongside an all-star cast that includes John Goodman, Diane Keaton, Olivia Wilde, Marisa Tomei and Ed Helms. My rating 8/10.
By the Sea follows an American writer named Roland (Pitt) and his wife, Vanessa
(Jolie Pitt), who arrive in a tranquil and picturesque seaside resort in 1970s
France, their marriage in apparent crisis. As they spend time with fellow
travellers, including young newlyweds Lea (Laurent) and François (Poupaud) and
village locals Michel (Arestrup) and Patrice (Bohringer), the couple begins to
come to terms with unresolved issues in their own lives. My rating 9/10.
