40th Post - August Overview

So here are August's posts, hope you enjoy them and find them interesting to watch, listen, eat, read and of course not forgetting about July's hottest beauty products and making sure you embrace this Summer's most elegant look. In the meantime, August has much to offer especially in London, head out this June and take in all the best new events, exhibitions and happenings in the capital.

51st State Festival:

A one-day dance festival in north London specialising in classic US house music
One for the old school house heads Returning for a third year in Trent Park – a country house estate in Cockfosters – this one-day festival honours all the wonderful varieties of house music across six stages hosted by top sound systems and club nights, including Groove Odyssey, FOUND and Channel One Sound system. Get in quick if you fancy checking out this excellent addition to London’s mushrooming dance festival scene.

Line-up includes: Masters At Work, Dimitri From Paris, BeBe Winanas, Derrick Carter, Evelyn King, Norman Jay MBE, Todd Terry.

51st State Festival
 
Notting Hill Carnival:
Europe’s biggest street festival, Notting Hill Carnival  26th & 27th August) is a vivid spectacle representing London's multicultural past and present. Since 1964 the capital's Afro-Caribbean communities have celebrated their culture and traditions with a two-day festival of fantastic live music ranging from reggae to dub to salsa, soca floats, steel bands, uplifting beats, jerk chicken and fried plantain food stalls, and much more.
