The Guide to Perfect Packing
Tired of arriving on holiday with crumpled clothes and the wrong things to war? Pack up your troubles with my easy first class travel tips....
Countdown to Check-In:
Several days before you leave, lay out your clothes you might be taking to give you time to amend lean and iron them pre-packing if necessary.
Research what to take - check the weather at your destination and what is provided e.g. hairdryers, irons, beach towels.
Don't leave packing to the last minute. Have check-in luggage ready the day before travel, leaving you time to focus on hand luggage.
Suitcase Suggestions:
If packing a trolley case, put weighty things towards the wheels so its not top heavy.
Rolling clothes saves space and prevents creasing. Delicate or embellished items travel best in garments bags and laid flat on top. On arrival, hang them up as soon as possible.
Save space an protect shoes and bags by stuffing them with underwear and socks. Put shoes in a bag to prevent them marking your clothes.
Put toiletries in wash bags and wrap them in a plastic bag to prevent leaks.
Don't forget a beach bag. A soft fabric version will fold in your case easily, or use it as your carry on bag.
Hassle-Free Holiday:
Keep tickets, passport and itineraries tighter in a wallet.
Fill out a luggage label with your name and contact number. For security reasons don't add your home address to the tag.
Scan your passport bank cards and important documents and email them to yourself in case anything is lost or stolen.
Hand Luggage Must Haves:
For long-haul flights, pack a pair of leggings or loose cotton trousers, particularly if you are wearing jeans.
Take spare underwear and socks and miniatures of your key beauty products in case your suitcase is delayed.
Bring a super-soft blanket, throw or scarf to snuggle into.
Take everything you would hate to lose - jewellery, medication, diaries, and travel documents as hand luggage.
Air dehydrates your skin, so carry a good moisturiser - its a great time to use all those tester sachets.
