This Year's Best Dresses - 2021

This has seen some great style and fashion on the red carpet and here we have the stars that raised the bar for red carpet glamour.... Here we have the best red carpet moments this year...

Jennifer Lawrence:

Jennifer Lawrence made a major return to the red carpet for the world premiere of Don't Look Up. Celeb stylist Kate Young dressed the actress, who is expecting her first child with husband Cooke Maroney, in a sparkling gold Dior gown from Maria Grazia Chiuri's spring 2022 collection. The dramatic silk dress featured floor-length, pleated cape sleeves and delicate embroidery. On the jewelry front, Lawrence wore Tiffany & Co. earrings.

Dakota Johnson:

Dakota Johnson set the fashion standard high in Venice for red carpet style this September. The actress attended the Venice Film Festival's premiere of her film The Lost Daughter last night, wearing a sheer, silver jewel-adorned Gucci gown. She wore her brown hair down with her signature blunt bangs.

Kristen Stewart:

At the London premiere of Spencer — in which she stars as Diana, Princess of Wales — the 31-year-old actress wore an embellished silver strapless figure-hugging Chanel dress, with a simple pair of silver heeled sandals to match. Styled by Tara Swennen, the ensemble, paired with unfussy hair, was an understated take on the Chanel’s usual heritage chic.

Gemma Chan:

Chan looked sensational in dazzling black separates, which she teamed with a matching headpiece embellished with Swarovski crystals, also by Park’s eponymous brand, Miss Sohee. The actor completed the look with crystal drop earrings and a bright red lipstick to finish.

Chan has been keen to promote the work of Asian designers in the past, choosing to wear only Asian designers during the Crazy Rich Asians press tour. The actor also paid tribute to Hollywood’s first Chinese-American actress, Anna May Wong, via her Met Gala look this year, created by Nepalese-American designer Prabal Gurung.

Taylor Swift:

Taylor Swift has stepped out for her second major red carpet event of the year, attending the BRIT Awards tonight at London’s O2 Arena. The singer shared a look at her outfit ahead of her appearance on the show. She wore a white sequined two-piece by Miu Miu with definite 1989 vibes paired with very Red era hair and red lipstick. Swift is known for her Easter eggs so make what you will about what the look says about her next album re-releases.

Kate Middleton:

The glamorous gold dress Kate Middleton wore to the premiere of the latest James Bond film, “No Time to Die,” is now available to purchase as part of designer Jenny Packham’s new 007 capsule collection.

Inspired by Bond girl Jill Masterson from 1964’s “Goldfinger,” the Duchess of Cambridge’s glitzy, glamorous gown features a plunging neckline, dramatic cape and all-over sequin and crystal embellishments, and is currently priced at $5,488 at Neiman Marcus.

In addition to Middleton’s Midas-worthy dress, the British designer has also created seven other looks inspired by the super-spy franchise, including two styles inspired by Packham’s original designs seen in “Die Another Day” and “Casino Royale.”

Amanda Seyfried:

This year's Golden Globes allowed stars to attend the ceremony from their own homes. But being in the house doesn't mean there needs to be a decline in glamour, and Amanda Seyfried—nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Marion Davies in the film Mank—proved just that. With the help of her trusted hairstylist and FEKKAI Artistic Director, Renato Campora, Seyfried paid homage to old Hollywood, this time off screen (and on the digital red carpet), with soft, 1940s-inspired waves.

Kendall Jenner:

Jenner was also dressed by Givenchy for this year's Met Gala, arriving in a sheer gown adorned in delicate crystals with a dramatic train. The model's dress featured a striking jewelled neckpiece and intricate shoulder pads - both clearly reminiscent of Hepburn's original version. Like Hepburn's dress, Jenner's also featured cascading embellishments, which originated from the centre of the bodice and glistened all the way down to the end of the train. And while Hepburn paired hers with white opera gloves, Jenner opted for a more modern, sheer version of the elbow-length accessory.
