August Beauty Products

So many beauty launches, so little time. It's true – the market does feel very busy – which is why it can feel especially tricky to navigate and identify what's great, and what's less so.

Clarins Lip Oil Balm

Summer's great new lip comes from Clarins, who have packed its cult lip oil into a solid balm formula. They're every bit as nourishing and gorgeous as expected: hydrating, surprisingly pigmented and deliciously scented. They lend shine without gloopiness and are just so easy to wear and use.

Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Island Glow Lip And Cheek

Most launches from Charlotte Tilbury pique our interest, but this one made us really sit up. These creamy pots of colour have arrived just in time for summer. Balmy and pigmented, they're best applied with fingers; they melt into skin and look so very healthy.

By Terry Tea To Tan Sun Powder

The shades here are genius: warm enough to look sunny, cool enough to not look orange. It's so pigmented that one swipe on top of cheekbones and across the forehead is enough to imbue some warmth to tired-looking skin. While some powders can make skin look flat, this has a slight luminosity (without any shimmer) that makes a face look healthy.

Diptyque Citronnelle and Geranium Body Spray

Insect repellent made chic. Yes, there's citronella here, but it's paired with all the zesty loveliness of lemongrass, geranium and orange blossom. It's fresh, uplifting, and if you sprayed it every time you felt compelled to, you'd get through this bottle very quickly indeed.
