December's Beauty Products

It's safe to say that December 2024 has seen no shortage of game-changing beauty drops. 

I'm not usually a fan of Christmas scented candles, let alone festive perfumes, but I was intrigued largely because I didn't know what artemisia was. For clarity, it's a bitter-smelling, herbaceous plant. But when it rubs shoulders with fir and leather, you get this really surprising rush of freshness mixed with piney woodiness, earthiness and a slight smokiness - like being in a forest, wearing your favourite leather bomber jacket. It's also a great unisex fragrance.

The Balm has always dived in and dialled down any redness and sensitivity almost immediately, while helping burns to swiftly heal with a lower chance of scarring. I love the new spray version as you don't actually have to touch your inflamed, sore skin - simply spray and let the soothing vitamin B5 do the rest. 

The Wonderlights Merryglow Highlighter gives the most beautiful glazed, candlelit cheeks and the coloured Wonderlights Twinkling Liquid Eyeliners are festive but still grown-up. My favourite is Glistening Pine, a mid-green with sparkle running through it that really complements brown eyes.

Granado is one of Brazil’s most popular beauty brands, but it’s only just starting to make waves here. Bossa captures the Rio coastline with transportive floral and marine notes that instil calm, zen and escapism when you need it most.

Eyeliners are a great way of adding a flash of colour to an otherwise neutral makeup look. This dual-ended pencil by Valentino has a slick, gel-like texture that glides on with ease and comes in seven shades – including a really wearable green hue, which has become my go-to. Despite being long-wearing, the formula gives you enough play time before locking down a crisp, clean cat eye or a smudged-out smokey courtesy of the blending brush on the other end.
