March 2025 - Music

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are set to release their first collaborative album, “I Said I Love You First.” The new project will be released on March 21 via SMG Music/Friend Keep Secrets/Interscope Records.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the newly-engaged couple also released the album’s first single, “Scared of Loving You.” The song, written by Gomez, Blanco and Finneas, features Gomez singing a love-struck chorus: “‘Cause I’m not scared of loving you/I’m just scared of losing you/I’m not scared of anyone or dying young/Or if you’re gonna find somebody new/’Cause how could they love you/As much as I do? As much as I do.”

An upbeat guitar-driven ballad, “Scared of Loving You” is tied to a music video that features Blanco and Gomez spending a relaxed morning in bed.

The album is said to “celebrate the pair’s love story, giving fans a unique window into their relationship,” per a press release. The set is described as “a direct result of the comfort that they both felt when working together creatively, allowing them to produce art that authentically reflects their experiences. It chronicles their entire story—before they met, falling in love and looking to what the future holds.”

Gomez has put a pause on her music career in the last few months to promote the Jacques Audiard-directed musical, “Emilia Perez.” As an actor and producer, Gomez has been recognized for her work with multiple Emmy, SAG and Golden Globe nominations. She recently received her first BAFTA nomination for her role as Jessi Del Monte in “Emilia Perez.”
