151st Post - November Overview
Finally, here are my recommendations for November, hope you enjoy them and find them interesting to watch, listen and eat. In the meantime, November has a lot to offer especially in London, so head this month and take in all the best new events, exhibitions and best events in the capital. London is a treasure trove of brilliant days out and activities worth boasting about.
November, the month of unexpected beginnings...
There’s something quite strange about November. We’re nearing the end of the year, Christmas is suddenly just around the corner, and somehow the last twelve months seem to have disappeared in the blink of an eye. You’d think this time of year would be all about endings, tying things up and looking back at what’s been. But perhaps November has other ideas.
Because, in its own unexpected way, November feels like the beginning of something.
There’s something quite daunting about opening a door you’ve wanted to open for such a long time. Reconnecting with someone, allowing something back into your life, and facing all the feelings that come with it. Exciting, scary, uncertain, but also something you’ve quietly hoped for more than you might care to admit.
And isn't that the funny thing about life? Sometimes the things we wish for arrive when we least expect them, at a time when we thought the year was already winding down.
With Christmas lights starting to appear, colder evenings settling in and another year almost behind us, perhaps there’s something lovely about remembering that new beginnings don't have to wait for January. You don't need a fresh calendar or a new year to start a new chapter.
Maybe November is proof of that. That even towards the end of one thing, something beautiful can still begin. And sometimes, the things that scare us the most are the very things we've been hoping for all along.
November is a lovely time to explore London. As the weather gets colder and the evenings get darker, the city begins to sparkle with festive lights, seasonal events and plenty of things to enjoy. If you're planning a visit this month, here are two activities worth adding to your list!
1. Experience the Lord Mayor’s Show – 14 November
One of London's oldest and most colourful traditions, the **Lord Mayor’s Show** is a fantastic event to experience. Taking place on Saturday 14 November, the procession features marching bands, dancers, horses and beautifully decorated floats travelling through the City of London.
The parade starts at Mansion House at 11am, and best of all, it's completely free to watch! It's a brilliant way to experience London's history while enjoying a lively atmosphere.
Go Ice Skating at Somerset House – From 11 November
Nothing says winter in London quite like ice skating! The beautiful courtyard at **Somerset House** transforms into a magical outdoor ice rink from 11 November, offering a wonderful seasonal experience.
Whether you're planning a romantic date, a fun afternoon with friends or a family day out, skating here is a lovely way to embrace the winter atmosphere. You can also enjoy the stunning architecture and festive surroundings.
Make the Most of November in London
From historic celebrations to magical winter activities, London has plenty to offer this November. Wrap up warm, grab a hot chocolate and enjoy everything this wonderful city has to offer!
