Unlike both of her bold ensembles at the SAGs and Golden Globes, Gaga and her glam squad went for a more minimal red carpet look consisting of loose, undone waves and subtly smoky eye makeup. Her longtime makeup artist and friend, Sarah Tanno, even shared several Grammys looks from years past on her Instagram Stories, and this one is notably the most low-key hair and makeup Gaga's debuted to date. It was executed so beautifully, and couldn't have been more perfect for the star's big night.
For her makeup, Tanno smoked out the singer's lower lash line with a creamy black kohl liner by Marc Jacobs Beauty, leaving the lids and upper lash line mostly untouched, aside from a smidge of dark shadow in the shade Catwalks. Tanno explained that they wanted the eye makeup to look as if she had "put it on yesterday." She even skipped mascara to add to the slightly undone feel. As for the rest of her beat, Tanno applied a hint of bronzer to chisel out the star's already-defined cheekbones and topped the whole look off with the Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hydrating Lip Gloss Stick in Sugar Sugar for a glossy champagne-nude finish.
