Where To Eat This Month - Muriel's Kitchen

One of three Muriel's Kitchens in London - the others are in South Kensington and Leicester Square - this Soho branch brings the same emphasis on monthly-changing menus featuring locally sourced British ingredients. The bucolic interior features herb planters, flora, arbor seating and hanging potted plants. It's open from breakfast, with early meals including blueberry pancakes with maple syrup, sausage sandwiches, eggs Florentine and a variety of other cooked breakfasts. Bloody marys and smoothies of an energising bent are served up too. Daytime and evening mains range from Clarence Court Scotch eggs and sharing platters to smoky fish pies, char-grilled salmon steaks and lasagne. Desserts include cakes, cupcakes, traditional puddings and gluten-free options. Each of the wines from a list taking in Italy, Chile, Spain and France is available by the glass. Three sparkling wines and a couple of cocktails are available alongside bottles of ales and lager from St. Peter's Brewery and Wyld Wood organic cider. Soft options include milkshakes, freshly squeezed fruit juices and fizzy drops from Fentimans.
